The Mackenzie Country's Lake Tekapo contains some of New Zealand's most picturesque and natural scenery. Teal blue lake water and chiselled mountains are amongst Mackenzie's jewels.
Join Mackenzie Alpine Horse Trekking by sharing the natural beauty in one of the most natural forms of transport available, in a saddle.
Mackenzie Alpine Horse Trekking is owned and operated by Sarah Simpson. Sarah lives on Balmoral Station, a 10,000-hectare high country Merino, deer, and cattle station run by her husband Sam. This is where the Horse trekking is fortunate enough to be based. She adores showing off this spectacular landscape and it's breathtaking views to those who visit.
Sarah has ridden horses for over 20 years and has successfully competed to a high level in eventing and show jumping, she considers herself extremely lucky to be able to combine her passion for horses with her passion for this amazing area that we trek across.
Sarah and her experienced guides will make sure your horse trekking experience is not to be forgotten!
We have horse treks for riders of all abilities and cant wait to show you the magic of the Tekapo region on horseback.
