In 2018, we adopted 3 Kaimanawa stallions from the wild as part of our “Rewild Project” (an Epic, Length Of New Zealand Horse Ride). Despite working with horses as trainers/guides for the last 5 years, this was the first time since moving to New Zealand that the responsibility of caring for our own horses and the task of finding the best local products, services and communities to foster their care was on us.
Living in a small rural town, we had heard through the grapevine about a number of great local equine businesses/services/products but after jumping online to find them, we quickly learned how hard it was to track down things like Equine Health Professionals, Horse Transport, Agisting, Horse Feed etc. online.
Despite having some truly fantastic and knowledgeable individuals in the area, their expertise were usually hiding in obscure facebook pages or on dusty pamphlets or business cards. When asked about why they didn’t have more of a web presence most replied: with some variation of “It’s just too hard/expensive/time consuming!”
Thus the idea of one centralised equine hub for New Zealand’s Equestrian Community was born. By combining all the things we love about horses, and linking them with the supporting businesses, communities, services and resources to make your dreams a reality.
Continuing to Develop, Evolve and Connect our community.
In October 2020, we’ll be completing our Length Of New Zealand horse ride and along the way will continue to develop the Human and Horse platform. We currently have an app in development and will be rolling out a number of great features as we continue to develop, evolve and connect our equine community.
